Here at Grubhub, our employees are pretty obsessed with food. Every day, weâre making sure delicious food finds its way to your doorâŠand to ours. Say what? Correct, we too order from Grubhub (so meta).
With our âWhat I Ate in a Weekâ series, youâll get a sneak peek into the lives of actual â never not hungry â Grubhub team members. A nice benefit that happens to come with our jobs is what we call âmealperksâ â our weekly Grubhub stipend. Clearly, weâre using this to get the best bites in town each and every week.
On deck, we have: Vinaya, a Marketing Analyst at Grubhub. Get the lowdown on her delivery highlights of the week and top ordering hacks.
Letâs meet Vinaya
Hi! Iâm Vinaya. Born and bred in Mumbai, India, I moved to several cities within the country before ending up at Indiana University for grad school three years ago, and since then lived briefly in New York and now Chicago. Somewhere between Chinese takeout and bubble tea in my college town to the signature deep dish Pizza in Chicago, my taste buds evolved.
My meat-loving friends often bring my âexplorationâ of food into question since I am a vegetarian (no eggs either!). I was always concerned when I moved if I would be able to get enough food options considering my many dietary restrictions. To my pleasant surpriseâfrom the small towns to the big citiesâI wasnât at all short of options. Once I joined Grubhub, I had all the more reason to explore the many many options I had. This week, most of my meals had rice in all its different forms (yep, more carbs please).
And here are my top delivery eats from last weekâŠ

Rice Bowl from Moti CafĂ©Â
One of my new discoveries (around the block from where I live) is this new place that opened up in River North called Moti Cafe. Itâs a new Indian street food cafĂ© (Chicagoâs first ever)… and I was super excited to try it out. I ordered on Grubhub for pickup on my way home from work and snagged this flavor-packed rice bowl.

Vegetarian Biryani from The Indian GardenÂ
So, my dadâs in town this week and biryani is all-time favorite dish of ours. I got this vegetable biryani for a weekend lunch from the The Indian Garden. The quality and quantity of food here makes it completely worth every penny!

Pho from Green Apple Phoever
Ah, my comfort food on a cold day. Pho is something I donât order all the time⊠but when I do, itâs so worth it. The kind of meal thatâs just right, calm and delicious, filling, but still light! Green Apple Phoever is definitely one of my go-to spots in Chicago for pho.
